This site is run by a foreign resident living and paying taxes in Japan, who went through the furusato nozei process firsthand and wanted to make it easier for others to do the same.
When we first tried furusato nozei, there was no genuinely good English-language calculator or step-by-step guide — almost everything was Japanese-only. We built furusato-calc.com to close that gap with a clear English limit calculator and plain-English guides.
